Gingerbread Cake Recipe
I’m getting bigger and bigger but I don’t get worried for it, at least before going to heaven, I had to taste all the delicious food over here on earth (just kidding), sorry. Anyway, this recipe that I am going to share for you today is Gingerbread Cake, haven’t heard of it yet? Hmmm for me, in my first experience when my grandma cooked it, I thought it was a chocolate cake because it really looks like a chocolate cake, but after tasting it, wow what is this cake?! And my grandmas’ laughing, and said, “well my dear, that is a ginger bread! “And I don’t really like ginger, but then in this recipe my hate turns to love. It’s really amazing and it was my first time that I ever love ginger, grandma shared her recipe and sometimes I cooked it for my kids and they so love it, and now, I want you also to experience this Gingerbread Cake. I hope you will like it, and so sure you will never ever regret of having it. Enjoy!
- 1 1/2 cups of flour
- 3/4 tsp. of salt
- 3/4 tsp. of baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. of ginger (but you can add more)
- 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of boiling water
- 1/2 cup of shortening (or margarine)
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 piece of egg
- 1/2 cup of molasses
Prepare a greased square pan and set it aside while preparing the other procedures for baking.
And next thing to do is to Beat all this listed ingredients below:
- The 1/2 cup of shortening, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1 piece of egg, and the 1/2 cup of molasses.
Be sure to beat them well.
And then you are going to add the:
- 1 1/2 cups of flour, 3/4 tsp. of salt, 3/4 tsp. of baking soda, 1/2 tsp. of ginger, 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon and a 1/2 cup of boiling water
Again beat them well and bake in greased square pan at 350 degrees F for just about 35-40 minutes or until the inserted knife turns out clean, which means the cake is not moisten.
