I hope you guys will like this!

German Butter CakeSomeone that is so special in me asked me what’s the taste of German Butter Cake is. Well I just smiled at him and then gave him a free taste on the next day and wow I was surprise about his reaction, he blushed and said “you know I like all the cake you baked, and not just that, I like mostly the baker of this cake” and those words made me blushed too. That day was so fun because of this German Butter Cake, and now, aside from sharing the feeling that I felt the last day, I also want to share this to you, on how I baked the German Butter Cake, So easy and simple, but a very delicious cake ever.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1 (1/4 oz.) pack active dry yeast or 1 (3/5 oz.) cake fresh yeast
  • 2/3 cup of tepid milk
  • 6 pieces (egg yolks)
  • 14 tbsp. of butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar

Chopped Almond Topping

  • 1 piece of egg  (beaten)
  • 1 cup of almonds (blanched and finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp. of course sugar
  • 4 tbsp. of butter

German Butter CakeProcedure:

  1. First, in a large bowl mix in the yeast with the milk and 2 1/2 cups of the flour and then let this sponge rise for just two hours in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
  2. And then, add the remaining flour with the egg yolks, butter and then sugar.
  3. Knead it well for about 10 minutes and then let rise for just about 30 minutes.
  4. Now, roll out the dough to fit a well buttered jellyroll pan.
  5. And then, lay it in the well buttered pan and brush it with the beaten egg.
  6. After that, sprinkle it with the almonds and coarse sugar and dot it with the butter.
  7. And lastly, bake it in a preheated 350 degree F oven for about 45 minutes, or until golden.

German Butter Cake is not a typical cake unlike the other cake you had tried before, this cake was very brilliant cake that will make the eater love it so much and want it for another round.
